Hospital Billing Specialist I (15654) – Manassas

Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Hospital Billing Specialist I to join our team in Manassas, VA.

Job Responsibilities:
Revenue Cycle Solutions (RCS) offers healthcare business office consulting and management of accounts receivables. Concentration is on billing and collections using RCS collection techniques to provide accelerated accounts receivable recovery. Focuses on the hospital revenue cycle helping clients to optimize revenue, improve cash flow and strengthen their financial position. Performs tasks required to ensure the systematic and timely insurance follow-up and resolution of all accounts in assigned inventory. Documents all collection activity in the patient accounting system. Typical duties include:

• Effectively collect or resolve patient accounts receivable and monitor hospital A/R including aging accrual, write-off’s, and transfers to bad debt.
  
• Efficiently handles inbound/outbound calls placed by the automated dialer.
  
• Resolves patient accounts by collecting payment and/or by contractual adjustment by obtaining insurance and/or third party information.
  
• Ensures patient payment plans are within established guidelines of contractual agreements.
  
• Keeps insurance employees updated on specific insurance handling of specific client(s).
  
• Responsible for checking status and documenting all assigned insurance accounts and submitting claims for billing or rebilling electronically or hard copy
  
  Required Skills:
  
• 1+ years customer service experience in a healthcare environment
  
• Knowledge of claims review and analysis
  
• Strong oral and written communication skills
  
• Self-directed and capable of working without direct supervision
  
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; and the ability to learn new programs and systems
  
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  
• Ability to work well with others
  
• Dependable in both production and attendance
  
  Desired Skills:
  
• 1+ years of hospital billing/collection experience
  
• 2+ yrs Knowledge of Medicaid and Managed Care payers.
  
• Bi-lingual Spanish
  
• CPAT
  
  Minimum Educational Requirements:
  
• High School diploma or equivalent
